About Me

Hi! I'm Lara, here's a little about me:

I was born and raised in Nevada by two amazing parents. Adopted at one week old I have yet to find my birth parents, but it's something I hope to do someday. My parents were amazing and we lived on a small five acre plot in a small desert town and loved it!

At the tender age of three my adoptive father died in a horrific motorcycle crash. It shaped who I am and though I remember very little about him, I am deeply influenced by that life event and grateful for the lessons it taught me. At the time my Mother was expecting my youngest sister, as well as raising me and my two year old little sister. Like I said, life experience. :) It gave a little bit to each of us.

Two and a half years later my Mother remarried a man with two daughters of his own and our life as a blended family began. We did our best to make family life wholesome and uplifting and I learned plenty of life lessons growing up as an adoptee as well as living in a blended family. Were it not for those experiences, I wouldn't be the woman I've become today.

In 2004 I ventured out to the big city of Las Vegas from my small hometown and attended UNLV on a Vocal Performance scholarship. While I was there singing in a school choir I met my husband, fell in love with him and his singing voice, and a few short months later (about 10 months) we were married in the St. George Utah Temple. What can I say, when you know, you just know. :) Dedicated and devout members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we do our best to raise our kids with a love of God and all men as well as live our lives the way He would have us. We've had our share of life trials and I'm continually grateful for that. Trials mold us and shape us and strengthen us. I feel that it has done this for our family and for our marriage. I am continually grateful for trials, even if in the middle of them I feel anything but gratitude, I have always learned something.

Here we are 13 years later, living the small town life in rural Nevada, raising our four kids, a medium sized flock of chickens and one super cute Mini Aussie puppy named Kershaw. Life couldn't get better, but it doesn't mean it's always easy, and that doesn't mean there isn't so much to be grateful for!

Thank you for being here!

-L
